Here in the UK most of us have enjoyed a sudden change from cold damp weather to hot sunshine over the past few days. Jumpers and coats have been cast aside to make way for lightweight clothes as we look forward to the Summer months.
I know it’s tempting to buy something new when the seasons change, but I always say ‘Shop your wardrobe before you hit the shops’. Set aside some time for a good rummage, check your clothes closely and dispose of anything that’s looking tired. If something gives you negative feelings, dispose of that too. If you like something but it doesn’t fit, put it on an ‘alterations’ pile (and remember to actually take it to the alterations person).
You might be surprised at how many things you have left that are ideal for the new season. Construct some outfits with them and take photos as reminders. Don’t forget to make a note of any wardrobe gaps as you notice them so when you do go to spend your hard-earned cash you’ll be spending it wisely. Last but not least, if you want my advice on your wardrobe dilemmas just get in touch and I’ll be happy to help.
